The Seed Capital Scheme (SCS), in conjunction with its associated scheme, the Employment and Investment Incentive (EII), are tax relief incentive schemes for start-up businesses. In the absence of an extension being introduced both schemes will expire on 31 December 2013.  The Finance Act 2012 replaced the old Business Expansion Scheme (BES) with the EII.
